Equipment Operator - Streets
The City of Ashland has an opening for a full-time Equipment Operator in the City Services Division.

Job Responsibilities:
Operate light, medium and heavy motorized equipment in order to assist with the efficient delivery of City services (i.e., dump truck to plow snow, spread salt, haul stone, gravel, and other materials; leaf vacuum truck; mower; tractor; front-end loader, street sweeper, etc.); inspect equipment in order to ensure safe operation
Perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled laborer tasks in order to assist with the efficient delivery of City services (e.g., cut brush; rake and pick up leaves; shovel and rake dirt, asphalt, and other materials; break up concrete and asphalt; mix and pour cement; erect and repair street signs, etc.)
Maintain required licensure and certification

Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance
Qualifications:
Must Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsement(s)
Must be eligible to drive City vehicles under our vehicle insurance policy
Has earned a high school diploma or a GED, plus at least one (1) year experience in the operation of light motorized equipment, or equivalent combination of training and/or experience
Can regularly lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds; move up to eighty (80) pounds with assistance
Compensation and Benefits:
$19.15 plus $0.50 increase after 6 month probationary period
Wage increases as outlined in the AFSCME contract
Year round work, no furloughs
Pension through OPERS with the City contributing an additional 14% and employees contributing 10% of wages.
