Street Department Supervisor
The City of Ashland has an opening for a full-time Street Department Supervisor in the City Services Division.

Job Responsibilities:
Plans and directs the activities of the construction and maintenance crews (e.g., plans and schedules divisional projects such as street and sidewalk repair, snow and ice control, leaf removal, traffic marking, mowing and directs traffic signal maintenance; determines equipment and supply needs).
Ensures safety compliance of employees and projects.
Supervises activities of assigned personnel (e.g., schedules and assigns work; evaluates employee performance; instructs employees on proper work methods, materials, and equipment; checks on work of employees to ensure proper completion; recommends employee discipline or commendation, etc.).
May meet with the Mayor and other administrative personnel as assigned to discuss City projects, equipment needs, personnel issues, etc.
Responds to citizen concerns; inspects projects to ensure proper completion and proper utilization of equipment and materials; resolves technical issues related to projects.
Assists in the preparation of annual budget requests and monitors expenses to ensure expenditures do not exceed appropriations; recommends the purchase of divisional supplies, equipment, and materials.
Provides administrative support and leadership to personnel assigned to Maintenance (e.g., interviews and recommends the hiring or promotion of applicants; administers and recommends discipline; evaluates performance; approves or denies leave requests, schedules.)
Prepares and maintains records, reports, and other documentation (e.g., monthly and annual reports, safety reports, reimbursement reports etc.);
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

Qualifications:
Completion of secondary education (High School Diploma or GED),
Experience as a crew leader or supervisor, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Able to work under adverse weather conditions found year round in Ohio;
Ability to lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds and move up to eighty (80) pounds with assistance.
Must have a valid Ohio Drivers license and be insurable under the City’s vehicle insurance policy;
Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred, but not required.
